Playing though computer speakers

Ive given up using my combo to play through as I dont like the sound at all. Its a Laney HCM65B. Its 60w.

I have been playing through some logitech x230s for a while now. I prefer their sound to the combo, but at 32w they are not powerful enough. The speakers lack ooumph.

I want to upgrade to more powerful speakers. I am considering these:

Im guessing they sound at least the same, if not better. And at 200w, they should be powerful enough. I dont want to go back to the bass amp as I also use the speakers for music and tv through a mixer. Would I be better off buying studio monitors like these:

Only problem is price needs to be kept down...

Ive looked into this but they seem too expensive. I dont want to spend over £200 ($350).

This is what I play through when I'm not using my rig. I got the subwoofer for free, and the other two sony units cost 60 dollars a piece.

I dont want to use an amp, as music generally sounds poor through them. I want a good sound, that reflects my Status Graphite. Do you like the sound of that set up?

I have those Logitech Z 2300's, they're plenty loud for playing music through. There's also the Klipsch 3-piece powered system, ProMedia 2.1 I believe it's called.

Thats good. The louder the better. Do you think that playing bass through them, they would have much oumph?

I run my computer out through my bass combo using the CD in jack on it....

I tried playing my bass through the computer and 5.1 speakers with subwoofer, but the subwoofer couldn't hack the bass properly. It resonated horribly on certain notes on the E and A strings...

Likewise. Mine has a bandpass subwoofer that's pretty peak-ed, and it runs out of xmax rather quickly as well, just like the satellites do.

Don't even recall the model, but it's Sony stuff. A lot of computer and cheaper 5.1 subwoofers do a good enough job of supplying some lower-down content for playback but suffer for extension or flatter response when bigger demands are placed on them.
