Playing without an amp?

I wanted to know if there is any way to play my bass without an amp? I thought about using irig but i need an iphone or ipad for that. Any other way yall can think of?

With an adapter, you can probably plug it into your computer, but it'll be really easy to blow your speakers so be careful.

No im asking if theres a way to hear it like its plugged in through headphones. The main reason i want to do it is because i practice alot and my parents get tired of hearing me play. I do have a peavey tko 115 amp. Could i do something through that?

According to the Peavey website there is a headphone output on the TKO. Most headphone outs cut the internal speaker when used. All you'd need in a 1/4" to heaphone jack to stick in it and then plug your headphones into that.

I have the Vox AP-BA amPlug, which is basically a headphone preamp / amp emulator for bass. Its great for practicing without sharing with everyone, and for practicing to mp3s.
