Please critique my rock playing

Rad! I love the tone - big and dark. The solo'ed tone is remarkably dry and dead-sounding...almost too much for a rocking song like this, but in context I think it works great w/ the other instruments. One suggestion: try adding a little bit of grit to your sound...just a taste....it might add some flavor that would punch things up a bit.

You're on point, keep it up!

I have no idea if this is too much to ask of you, but it would mean a whole lot if you'd have a listen to a track I played on and let me now how you think I sound.

Its not my band, its a guitar-and-drums-only bass local to me, I only put bass on it as an experiment to see what my new bass sounded like in a mix.

Any feedback would be much appreciated.

The playing is competent. I would go for a little more character in the tone of the bass. More mids, more treble, and a slight amount of tubelike distortion.
