my point was that if you're placing the gain/volume knobs say at noon on both amps that's what I meant by true A/B comparo. Since different amp manufacturers(sp?) may reach peak or near peak volumes or compression or limiting or whatever takes place with the amps' knobs at different locations on the dial.
So that's why I asked what settings your using or other factors, which may not tell you anything in reality. But seems your going with your ears and that's what I usually do. Just wondering is all.
BTW, one of the four rigs I use to gig is a GB NeoPak (2 ohm modded) with two GB NeoX 212T cabs and that rig kills...or at least leaves a big bruise. And I went from GBE600 to GBE 750 to the NeoPak. Totally reverse as to how most might do it.
Either way glad you got a good, working BX500. That little amp has me interested since I use 2 ohms often. A local dude keeps asking me to trade my pristine B1500 for his BX500 and I keep considering it.
