Please Help ID this FENDER Japan Bass!!

I am at a loss to know what this is. Anyone have a guess? It resembles a Fender Japan MB4 but the headstock is different and the logo is simply a large "F".

Any thoughts?

Fender Japan produces some real oddballs... maybe this is one. Perhaps it is not genuine. I am intrigued. I have been into Fender Japan guitars/basses for a long time. I don't remember seeing this one.

It could be from the weird period when Fender was phasing out Heartfield, but I'm leaning toward it not being Fender. They've never used a headstock shape like that, and the Jazz Bass 24 is the only Fender to have 24 frets. Fender Japan only went as high as 22. Does it have a serial number?

What makes you think it's Fender Japan? Looks like a Cort or a Samick or something with a waterslide on the headstock.

Def looks kinda like one of the Heartfields... but the truss cover looks like warmoth, the tuning pegs are the wrong spacing, the dots don't seem right, and the knobs are def not original.

Is there a serial? I'm leaning towards parts bass.

I think a better question would be IS this a Japanese Fender?

I’m leaning toward no. Are there any other Fenders that only have a Fenderish F painted on the headstock and no other markings?

Not a Fender, 99% certainly Korean made. I’ve seen either this bass or basses like that come up for sale a couple times. That F looks more like a fake F bass logo than a fender logo, but it’s neither.

Yea I think you might be right. Unless it's an older version and the spacing has changed, the edge cut and the tuner spacing are just a wee bit different.

Body looks somewhere between a Fender Heartfield Prophecy and a Fernandes FRB/Revolver, but not quite right on either one as the Prophecy never came in PJ to my knowledge and the Fernandes would have had branded hardware. Definitely a hastily-installed Warmoth neck. Parts bass for sure.

Unless the pics are backwards, that's not an "F" to begin with.

I'm going with this is not a Fender at all.
