As mentioned above, it very much is a F as used, at least, by both 7ender, and even earlier than 7ender by this furniture company:

Nothing on that bass is Warmoth
Perhaps, although this does look damn close:
The headstock is slightly similar on first glance, but the OP bass has all the hallmarks of a ~90's Korean bass.
Including photos of the back of the instrument would've had a lot fewer people confused, I think.

Fender had a lot of weird stuff in the 90s , I wouldn't dismiss it as not a Fender.
Looks very much like a mid 90s Sangjin/Kimaxe instrument. My former employer used to do a lot of business with them, I saw a LOT of their product.
Going with neither Fender or Japanese.
Knobs are not original, they're gold plated precision style with set screws, and that bridge saddle is going to be a challenge to replace, cosmetically. I think I still might have some of the knobs from my old one. I'll have to check. Sadly I don't have the bridge.
Although the bass repairs pale in comparison to the help your floor needs, man!

Also, keep in mind I found this on a Japanese auction site. It is being sold in Japan as a Japanese Fender "rare" model. I have no idea if it actually made by Fender Japan. Just because we haven't seen it here in North America (at least that is where I am), doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

It's a shame my funds are limited. I spotted an auction on that site for an Eighties-era, PB-555 "Boxer" Precision…a genuine Fender-Japan creation that has always intrigued me.

No idea if it's a real Fender or not but it does remind me of the Heartfelds from the late 90's.

I don't think I will risk it. First off it isn't my style. I would only buy it to add to eclectic collection of Fender Japan models. I want to be sure it's a Fender.
