Please Help Identify This Base

Hey guys, need help identifying this bass. Appears to be a Les Paul style (thinner) but has a short neck (bolt on), same length as a guitar. No names or serial numbers anywhere. Body appears to be made of pressed wood and looks cheap, have no idea about the pickups. I'm not a bass player but picked this up with a guitar I bought, owner has no clue. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Probably a chinese knock-off of a Les Paul style bass.

I *really* like the looks of that bass.

Looks like it would be a GREAT project guitar, and I do so love my projects...

Might be an older "Rondo" product (i.e. SX and/or Brice), considering they make both LP style basses AND specialize in short-scale.

I know everything works on it, put new strings on it and cleaned it up. I'm thinking it has to be maybe mid '80 model or so. I got a '82 Venture guitar and the lady threw this bass in. Her husband had them and had passed on several years ago. She said he had had them since 1990 or so. Like I said, I'd like to know what it is.

Looks like a 70s copy bass to me. I had a Japanese made 70s-styled jazz bass that had pickups similar to that and the pressed-wood body but I can't for the life of me remember the brand of the bass.

Lovely looking piece. I agree on the hardware looking like early 70's parts from Japan. The two slide switches are really a plus.

I recently saw a hollow body Conrad with that same type of bridge posted on eBay. The thing is, any number of manufacturers and brands were dipping out of the same parts bins at that time.
