I just checked out the ebay auction you were talking about. Honestly, it looks like a quality instrument for the price, but you never know until you get your hands on it. I bet you would get it for a pretty good price that would not be much loss at all if you decided to turn around and sell it. Let us know how it turns out...

I guess I can't go wrong with a classic like this, so this'll have to tide me over til I get good enough to buy a high-end bass.

So... I've made up my mind! I'm gonna go for it! I guess I'll have to sharpen up on my sniping skills for this one... :ninja: :hiding: :ninja:

I spent the last week or so constantly checking out other basses, even going to the country's biggest instrument street market.

It's so convenient how I keep stumbling across negative reviews for old Squiers (the one up for auction is supposedly from 2002) just after I decide on getting it... Every damn storeowner I've talked to here pretty much laughed in my face for wanting a Squier P-bass. They all said that Cort basses were MUCH better for the price, and that all P-basses are essentially pieces of s*** compared to J-basses (which was why they carried neither Squier or P-basses)....

Though I wasn't completely persuaded, I still felt pretty hesitant after all that.



Well, the auction's finally over, and I wouldn't have won it if it weren't for my 10-second sniping. Some jerk jacked up the bid 60 bucks at the last minute, and the total cost including shipping is about $210, not much different from a brand new one. :spit: :mad:

Well, I guess that's the price I pay for the color I want.
If the tone sucks, will upgrading the pups and strings improve it? DAMN if only they made MIM Fenders in that color... :crying:

For $210, you can sell it immediately without losing a whole lot. Don't worry about the negative things you've heard. It's your first bass, you will get some use out of it.

Honestly, I think it will probably end up being a pretty good value for you. You can get alot of tone out of a P/J configuration, and upgrading the electronics can improve it a bunch.

I would be happy if I were you, that bass would have to be defective for you not to get something out of it and find the purchase worthwhile :)

Ahh thanks for always alleviating my stress man. I guess it's pointless to worry after I've already made my purchase, huh? :o The things that the store owners must be getting to me. Screw them I'll have the best green bass in the world! :hyper:

Well I just got a message from the seller.

I do NOT ship to Korea. You must have a USA or Canadian mailing address. A south korea postal code is showing for you. You have VIOLATED THE TERMS OF THE AUCTION, AND THAT MAKES ME VERY ANGRY. WHAT ARE YOU DOING BIDDING ON AN ITEM WITH NO OVERSEAS SHIPPING WITH A SOUTH KOREA ADDRESS?

What an @$$clown. His 4-year-old attitude makes me wonder if I can trust him with more than a dollar.

Uhhh- your first post says you're in Korea. Is that correct?

If so, are you expecting the seller to ship it there? If the seller said that they wouldn't ship anywhere but USA or Canada, why did you bid?.... am i missing something here?

No, I'm not expecting anyone to ship anything to Korea, and I didn't ask the seller to.
For the ten years I've used Ebay, all I had to do was select one of the many shipping addresses I have in my Ebay/Paypal address book when I make my payments, which is why I'm so flabbergasted by the seller's sudden message. It's not like the seller is writing his invoice according to where it's shipped, because his already excessive shipping cost is a set price.

I explained in my first post that I'll be visiting the US in July which is when I was originally planning on purchasing and bringing home a bass. All I have to do is have it shipped to a friend's house so I can pick it up when I get there. :) Unfortunately, I didn't think explaining all this was necessary for completing the transaction, but I guess I can't expect all Ebay sellers to act professionally. Right now I'm just waiting for the seller's reply, so I guess I can think about what to do depending on what I get. :bassist:
