Please help with some info on this Kay bass

Hey guys, I'm completely new to upright double basses and was considering buying this c1 Kay from 1956 for 1,900. The wood looks pretty busted up, the neck definitely had some work to it as well. If anyone can give me some information and recommendations based on the crummy pictures I took, I'd really appreciate it. If this doesn't work out, I'm considering purchasing a double standard UB from upton. But I don't know where else to turn except this forum. Thanks in advance.

You would get better answers if you posted this to the double bass side of TB, but for me this is a bit rough for $1900.
