please recommend a chorus

If you're looking for a nice shimmery chorus that can do subtle in spades, you can't do better than the Ibanez CS-9 (for a budget model) or the Maxon CS-9Pro (for the deluxe model). It's a great chorus that does work very well with a fretless (IMHO).

Another chorus that I would look at would be the Hardwire CR-7 because you get 7 different chorus types to play around with and see which one(s) you like.

I'd also highly suggest you either try these pedals out in your local shop (all three pedals that I mentioned are easily found in most shops) or use (abuse) the return policy and take the pedal home and run it through your rig. If you find that you don't like it, it's easy to return it.

Edit: Or you could just scour Craigslist/the classifieds/other forums/eBay for a used one at a cheaper price.

Another +1 for the Hardwire CR-7. However, if you're willing to drop the coin, the Analogman bi-chorus is a real winner.

I have a Boss CEB-3 Bass Chorus. I like it, works good live.

I'll definitely say that I think the Analogman is my personal favorite, but it's also gotta be one of the most expensive chorus pedals out there on the market.

However, I remember there being a standard Analogman in the classifieds for ~$150 a few days ago... not sure if its been nabbed already but you might take a look there.

Voodoo Lab Analog Chrous. Not made for bass but i use it the whole time and it sounds great. Not sure if they are being made new anymore but you should be able to pick one up second hand.

I had a cool kat chorus many years ago and was amazed at how good it sounded. It is definitely a sleeper pedal. Unfortunately, I only used it for guitar and don't know how it works for bass

It'll work fine on bass. I once saw a video demonstration of the old danelectro cool cat chorus and it sounded pretty cool. give it a try. you might be impressed by the sound quality. the new danelectro cool cat chorus has a mix control which mixes the dry signal with the effected signal. it also has an eq control for if you want a warm chorus sound or a bright chorus sound. danelectro chorus pedals sound totally awesome on bass.

+1 on the Maxon CS 9Pro. Most awesome, and it only took approx 15 "other" chorus pedals before I found MY chorus. Been using it for over 3 yrs, with no "wishing" I had something else. Dead quiet too.
