Please, someone identify this for me.

OK I'm a big fan of all things Juan and think his Vato~Negro tracks are sick, love his tones. But the track Link Removed has me perplexed as to what effects he is using.

I was thinking some sort of gate/limiter over synthy distortions (maybe his BMS) bits of that riff make me think he's using his 105q over it as well.

I think the gate on the bass track is being keyed by one or more of the drum tracks. Distortion could be anything with stupid gain available, no idea about the filter - I've never used a 105Q so maybe it's one of those. Doesn't sound like a BMS is involved though.

The BMS might well not be, I just read somewhere that he often used it for distortions and put two and two together with the sound having a synthy sound to it.

At one point I thought it might have been that new Boss Slicer doing the gated rhythm thing. But I don't know enough about that box of tricks.

Could well be some studio outboard gate that's been programmed but I'd love a pedal that could do that! With something like tap & hold rhythm & tempo :ninja:

For ages I've been trying to get someone to build me a custom loop/blend box where the loop return is always blended with the bypass signal (with a blend control knob) regardless of whether the loop send is connected, and a momentary footswitch to cut the loop in (or out depending on the status of the clicky bypass footswitch). You could use it for all sorts of stuttery gated rhythms, or just to add effects to a couple of notes, or to fire the odd note through a delay and still have the repeats trail off while the delay input is bypassed, etc.

I'm hoping to get Robot Factory Mario to do it for me if/when the exchange rate gets a bit more favourable.
