Please Turn Off The Faucet!

It's been raining like mad here too. I was just heading through Texas and now I have dents all over my car from hailstones and junk.

Years ago, believe it or not, people (scientists) were concerned about global cooling. Global warming may be occurring, but there have been long term studies that suggest nothing of the sort. Bear Owsley has written some interesting essays that relate to this issue, maybe I'll post a link.

I just got back from a (very windy) 25 mile bike ride - but NO rain!!! If it rains on the 4th, it won't kill me - it'd be a nice day off (not normal for me).

Hey - NJL! Come to Luna on the 7th! My quintet is playing!

Yep, I'm in Houston, and the rain's been nuts here too. Thankfully it subsided enough so that there were only a couple of brief flashes towards the beginning of the outdoor Rush show last Saturday. ;) The grounds were plenty saturated and muddy though, saw more than a few people slide and take a tumble in the mud.

Yeah, when I was driving through Texas I had to stop and get a cheep hotel room because the weather got so bad. I had been driving through hailstorms all day, and on the news they showed the side of a hospital building where every window had been broken by the hail. And just days before that I barely got past some crazy widwest storm where I think seven tornadoes were reported in just a few hours. The weather has been bad all over the place.

It's alright here though :D

Yeah that was a hospital in Amarillo. My wife and I had been there in Amarillo just an hour or so before that storm hit. We seemed to be just barely avoiding storms like that on our entire trip back from Colorado.

send some of that rain back here to San Diego!! we're in a huge freakin drought that's been going on for years now... it's not sweltering hot or anything like that, but brush fires are gonna be blazin soon...

Same! Australia is even at the point where we are subject to some pretty heavy water restrictions right now. Can't wash your car, water your garden, fill your pool etc etc. It's been so long since it rained in the places that matter, that we literally have school aged kids who have never seen raindrops.

Atlanta has been getting doused in rain latley. I remember about two years ago when we had water restrictions and we had a really bad drought, but now it is the complete opposite. One day we had some sun, so I just had to go skate down some hills while I had the chance. The rain is making mowing the grass a pain cause the blades get all wet and full of grass and bah. Hopefully it will be gone for the 4th of July.

Midwest has been major suckatation, weatherwise, too. I didn't even call the pool guy to open it - not with only 6 days without rain in June!

I stocked one room in my basement with rainbow trout......to eat the minnows that are spawning in it.

On a positive note - If the world is truly going to end by fire, it sure as hell ain't happening this summer!!!!
