Hey everyone. I'm just starting to get into the wonderful world of politics but i'm kind of confused. I kind of know the difference between democrats and republicans and conservatives vs. liberals but NOT REALLY.
I know it seems silly and stupid but i was never taught the viewpoints of the different parties. I guess people just assumed i knew.. but i don't.

I'm just wondering if you could give me a defintion of each party and then what their views are on current issues like abortion, gay marriage, education issues, foregin policy, etc.

I don't know much so try to "dumb it down".

In before the lock. Fool.

Republicans like hard liquor and cheese. Democrats have lots of allergies to common household cleaners. Liberals do a lot of acid. Libertarians are really a front for a Plutonian invading army, headed by Jerry Brown. Ralph Nader told me this as he pulled away in his Corvair, which he claims is safe on dirt roads.

Personally, I don't know why this thread should be locked because he's just asking the about difference between political affiliations. Then again I guess it could granulate into a huge political mess. I guess that's why they don't make me a mod and pay me the big bucks........wait, mods are volunteers; well, I wouldn't want to be a mod then anyways. :D ;)

Here's the official "dumb and dumberer" defintion :

Anybody in government = BAD
Anybody not in power = GOOD

PS. George Bush loves abortion, gay marriage and he's great on foregin policy - he loves tourists as long as they don't have an accent, when they speak Amurrcan English at him!! ;)
