Rosewood, or maple?

My wife who works in graphic design would probably say the maple board "pops" better. Probably a good thing on stage. And I don't hear enough difference in sound between the two to care much, but when I do hear anything, I usually prefer maple.

i prefer maple, but the rosewood looks better

funny thing is 3 of my 4 basses are rosewood and the two i've sold in teh past also rosewood

I think maple gives the better contrast. To me it seems to be a far superior match to the tone of that blue.

While I often like the look of a rosewood board, it is my belief that I would usually prefer the sound of a maple boarded P.
