POLL: Green Day - Like 'em or not?

I like Green Day. 3 really talented guys. I like their newer stuff, the "pop punk" stuff, but I like "Longview" and "Good Riddence (Time of your life)" 21st Century Breakdown rocks. "East Jesus Nowhere" and "Last of the American Girls" are both really catchy.

Please vote, I don't want this to be a dead post. Just thought I'd ask your opinions!

No, it wouldn't be.

I don't listen to Radiohead. However, I still respect that they have some originality, have been around for a while, and are some fairly talented folks. I refuse to say that they suck.

I like THAT their new stuff is more socially aware but I doubt I'll ever buy another album of theirs. I do have Dookie, nimrod, and insomniac and still occaisionally hear them when itunes is going all HAL 9000.

If BJ would keep his pie hole shut and just sing they would be fine, but for some reason musicians seem to think that we (the general public) seem to give a rat's backside about their politics...

stopped listening to U2 for the same reason!

I like it all. I like when they sang about wanking on Dookie, and I like that they sing about politics on American Idiot. Call it growth, maturation, whatever, I think they write good songs, although Billie Joe's electric guitar tones sound way too processed on the latest album.

I used to like them, until I heard all of their songs 15 times a day on the radio (it was on at work). Now I think that they write annoying music that I write new lyrics to, about how much they suck. Much the same as I do with nickleback.

never cared for them, I don't think they suck and are talentless but I definitley don't think they should be catagorized as punk. I'd say they are more 90's alt rock with punk pop overtones.

they suck. that was my vote.

the first two cds i got were joint gifts to my brother and i (money was tight then) were queens "greatest hits", and aerosmiths "get a grip".

then, we each got our own cds one christmas from a family friend. my brother got green days "dookie," and i got stone temple pilots "purple."

i still listen to stp (ALL albums), and i still think greenday has made a bunch of crap pop songs and videos.

i was raised in the bay area, and still live fairly close to it, but i only respect greenday in that they have rocked big shows for over a decade.

i have never bought, or even downloaded (THAT should tell you a lot) a green day song, yet i have every stp song on my ipod, my car mp3 cd, and often put some of it on my ipod shuffle.

so, yeah, greenday sucks. they had a couple neat videos, and owe 99% of their royalties to mtv.

Ok so my here is my opinion.

I really dig there older stuff i mean there is nothing wrong with it. I am 19 and kinda grew up during the end of grunge to pop punk than emo theme and i really dig green days old stuff. I like everything up to the american idiot album and i even like some songs on there like novackiss or whatever its called. There new album from what i heard is blah and crap to me. I never was a green day fan really and never bought an album, i always dug blink 182 for the popish punk
