Pop Up Menus Gone?

When I would hover over the "Forums" menu in the upper left hand portion of the screen, I used to get a list of all forums that I could navigate to. That pop up menu is now gone. Is that by design now? I miss it. Now I have to click on the "Forums" menu, which brings me to a different page listing the forums.

Unfortunately I had to take out the popup menu. It was old, inefficient code that isn't being supported any longer. I'll keep my eyes peeled for an alternative. In the meantime, there's always the "quick navigation" menu, but I do realize you have to scroll to find things.

Would it be possible to allow user-defined links in the primary navigation bar? I'm talking about the ones above the breadcrumbs. Give people the option to put 3 or 4 links to specific forums/subforums that they want. I can imagine the understaking, but outside the dropdown (which I liked quite a bit), I think that'd be an OK second option.

It's definitely a first world problem and if I don't like it there's not much I can do and the code was old and not supported any more and all that is fine, but not having that menu is awful. It makes navigating the site really annoying.

ha, I thought I was going crazy when the drop down stopped working this week on my Macbook.
I had reported the same issue about 2 months ago (no drop down menu and no pop up forum/post previews) on a new Dell XPS13/Win 10 lappie, and I have never found a solution for that issue. Now, this week, the Mac starts doing the same thing ... what the heck! (although forum/post preview does still work).
Glad to know it is the site and not my machine in this case.
1st world problems for sure, but those two little features really made using the forum easier ... I miss them.
