Double Bass Port Chuffing LDS 1x8 Does EPi UL110 have it?

I have two LDS 1x8's: one a 3 way neo and one a 2 way that is not. The 3 way has port chuffing going on (to defeat it I have the HP filter on fairly steep) The 2 way no chuff. together they sound great. I put the 3 way neo on top and it makes a nice rig. I use the 2 way when I only need a little amping.
Does the EPI UL 110 chuff? I am thinking about getting one as the cab to take on smaller gigs.

I have Don's 2x8 Cabinet and it doesn't have a issue with chuffing.
Interestingly enough, the EA VL 108's don't chuff either, at least in my
experience with them. I think that that smaller 1x8 cabinet really benefits
from the transmission line design that EA uses. My guess is that they handle
low frequencies a little better. The trade off is that you need a fairly powerful
amplifier and they weigh almost 30 lbs.

Yea my 2 way has no chuff its just the neo cab. I looked for a EA 1x8 but couldn't find one. It's just on an open E string too. But I love open E strings...

EA did the seller's market a big favor by discontinuing their two most popular cabs (VL208 and 108). I'll never figure that one out. It's not like they were made out of some endangered species of wood right?

To add something substantive to this post, I've got a UL110 which does an admirable job for the size and weight. It goes pretty deep, but it doesn't really keep up with my HT112 in the low-end dept...not that it gives out or chuffs. The HT is not a whole lot bigger than the UL110 (though it is noticably heavier) so I have a hard time grabbing the UL instead of the HT when I'm out the door.

My guess is that EA never sold that many VL 108's or 208's in the first place. In addition, I'm fairly certian that building a speaker cabinet with a transmission line design (similar to the Bose Wave radio) and five drivers probably wasn't all that cost effective and had a pretty narrow profit margin. Finally, Neo Drivers came along and changed to playing field for EA and everybody else. Unfortunately, the market for good sounding bass cabinets for upright isn't nearly as large a market as the electric bass market is.

Does the LDS version really get pretty close to the VL208? My HT112 is a great cab but I kind of wish it had a bit more of a low-end push without getting too electric-ish. At this point, the HT feels kinda like my dog...we enjoy each other most of the time and annoy each other once in a while...but she's mine and we're used to one another! (Didn't really feel like my wife would appreciate being part of a bass cab allegory). The LDS 1x8 and 2x8 thing makes sense, you're enjoying different amounts of the same thing depending on your gig.

Well I've done a lot more expirementing with pick ups then I have with cabs, but the LDS 1x8 and especially with 2 of them togther sounds tight hifi nuanced etc... I have heard it next to the EA 1x8 and 2x8 and I like the EA's a lot better. Just not $1000 better....yet
The LDS 1x8 2 way and the Focus are the Super GK, I always knew was possible...and with 2 of them its got a sound as big as I ever need and still tight and hifi....with just a bit of port chuffing
