Portable multi-effects for bass

Well I decided to buy a Vox Stomplab 1B off a fellow member for £35. It doesn't tick all the boxes but it ticks the main ones!
I'll give it a go and if it's not for me, I'll try the Zoom MS60-B.

I still own a DigiTech BP355. I don't use it anymore, but when I did, very impressive. I've had great people here help with with patches and I used it at gigs and very successful.I found you could really create decent patches if you took the time.
My guitarist has been using the RP355 version for guitar for 6 years without an amp for gigs.
The zoom b1on would be a good choice. it's affordable, portable, and has loads of effects, amp, and cab models.
Someone stated they get 6 to 8 hours from a pair of AA batteries. Charge 4 batteries in the morning and you're set for 12 to 16 hours of playing. Seems long enough.

Battery life was short for my needs (we used to busk and I used the MS60-B as tuner, EQ and occasional effects).I know rechargeable batteries exist, thanks, they do help cost-wise but not life-wise. I tended to use non-rechargeables, however, because I like the readiness and last longer than any rechargeables I've ever tried. Still, battery life was not sufficiently good for my liking and I ended up dumping the MS60-B. It is a cool pedal, superversatile, but I didn't like its performance on batteries. I hope you can accept that.

This is what I took exception to:
You said basically "It's a nice pedal but battery life is pretty short." That's a blanket statement, as if other digital pedals would be expected to last longer. Very few among us are buskers who would need 10 or 12 hours of battery life. You must understand that. All digital pedals have a short battery life compared to analog pedals. So saying this has a short battery life implies it's short compared to other multi-effects units. That's not the case. In other words, when we talk about gear we've owned we're obviously discussing it from our point of view, but we shouldn't talk in blanket statements as if our uses/needs are universal. Getting means 6-8 hours out of a digital pedal is actually a good battery life, objectively speaking.
With your insistence on (probably unreasonable) expectations regarding size and battery life, a pedal is probably out of the question.

Indeed, a digital multiFX is never going to be very frugal with regards to power. In that respect the MS-60B does better than some others I've owned, that's true. I was getting less than 6 hours, 'though.
The reason I thought to mention the battery life is that the OP stated he wanted to use it with batteries, live.
I'd be nervous, although if you replace batteries with fresh alkalines before each gig it will probably be ok.
That's cool. I use to own a vox stomplab 1b. it was a great multi-effects processor. it reminded me of the korg ax3b. I have started a patch ideas thread on the vox stomplab 1b and 2b. if you needed some nifty patch ideas for your vox stomplab 1b, here's the link.

Zoom B3. Has so much stuff in it I have yet to go thru it all in depth and I have owned it for 2 years now. I think you can pick it up reasonably cheap used as the new B3N is being pushed on the market new. Runs on 4 double A's or a wall wart. The one drawback is no aux. input but I have other way to make that happen.
