portable sound systems

I'm looking for a portable sound system mainly for practice and small gigs. Has anyone tried the Phonics or Fender Passport systems? Here are some I was looking at.

I seen the Fender on Ebay for $310 right now.
One of the Phonics has 10" and 2 of them have 12" speakers.
We really don't gig out, we do more jam sessions than anything and play in the basement too. We won't run any electrics thru it, well maybe an acoustic guitar. We just want something for vocals.

For your money, check the Yamaha Stagepas 300. My band uses that for rehearsals for vocals and acoustic guitar only. If you're going to get any of the above, I'd suggest going cheap since you're not playing out. vocals are pretty easy to amplify, even with a cheap system like the phonics.

As you can tell we're not familiar with sound systems. If we would play out it would be at a small bar maybe(doubtful), this will primarily be for home play and jam sessions. The system will only be used for vocals.
