Possible problem with a Trace Elliot SMX

Hi Everyone,
I have an older GP 12 SMX and I'm having humming issues when I use the input blend pot. It's fine when it's all the way to solid state but when I try to blend in the valve sound, I get humming. Does anyone have any ideas why this is happening? Time for a new tube? It happens with all my basses, active or passive.
