Don't know where to post this so I thought I'd post it here

For the second time this week, I got a notice from my Firefox browser that I have a security problem with my browser and I need to download the fix. (I knew better and I didn't download cuz I knew it was bogus)

It is similar to this >>>> Fake Firefox Security Alert or Firefoxsecurityalert Removal Report

I got this alert both times while surfing TB

It could be something on my machine, but I completely rebuilt the HD from scratch a week and a half ago, so in light of the current attacks on TB I have reason to believe it's coming from here.

I don't know if it is or if it isn't. Just putting this out there.

Cheers

Ok, just got it again.

I get these about once a week, always while in TB

The page you referenced says that most of the time the trojan is already present on your computer.... Do you run anti-virus software?

I'd say it could be a malicious ad, but given the fact that it's a Firefox application popup, and the fact that no other users have reported this, I'm inclined to think the trojan is on your system.

Next time it happens, take note of the ads that appear in your TB window (or take a screenshot) and I can check them out.

Paul,

Thanks for the response

I do indeed have an anti virus running. I even booted to safe mode and ran the anti virus. Nothing.

I get this on multiple computers,

And as it is just me, yeah it probably is me, but I can't find it.

I'll check the ads that are up and let you know.

Cheers
