OK heres an attempt to post me with my new Langcaster bass, it the one shown as the first image on the Langcaster.com site. 35,000 year old wood, handmade pups, and realllly sweet to play! I guess you could say this is my dream bass. That large thing in the top of the body is an amber pocket forming. Its copalized (immature amber) gum/sap but would take another 1.5mil years to turn into the stone amber but the process was interrupted cuz its now in my bass. Hmm, hope this picture shows-I am such a dumb#&& with computers.

You need to fix your tags, use [ ] instead of ( ).
But the the link still works fine if you get rid of the tags you have round it now.

I like that wood. It's beautiful. But wouldnt the Amber be soft still? I guess its not under any hardware so its fine.
Check if theres any mosquitos in there, maybe in a million years they can clone something from your bass?

And Langcaster have some unusual headstock designs, I'm liking them alot.

Thanks all you guys for tips on posting and I see 2 of you are from Australia----hey, Langcasters are made in New Zealand!!!! Yes, the immature amber is still soft and changing cemically. Most of the gum found in pockets is tacky and soft even tho 35K yrs old. It the rare ones where it starts to copalize. Heres my other Langcaster--the six-string on the left---has gum pockets but not amberizing.

Yes, grommit---but the Moogers (Murf and Ring Mod) are pretty hard to get everything you want and there are million settings and combos to work thru to get good sounds, not just a bunch of rings and warbles, so its a job to find the good stuff on them--but when you have a nice setting-wow!. Any Langcaster sounds remarkable--the pups are unlike anything else. Both guitars have overdrive built in as well. They are not well-known for some reason but they beat anything I've seen. Lang is a genius. His site is fascinating. And he is a great guy. I also have crybaby, DI, Chorus. All fun stuff and when I don't use them, the Langs have a uniquely perfect sound for anything you want to play. My buddy bought his wife a bass in Joh's SlimLine model---soooo sweet. There are only about 12 basses of this wood in the world right now as the wood was only released in 2002 by the New Zealand government. In fact the guitars are from stumps and roots that are unbelieveably HUGE! Pleistocene era stuff-------whew! Another 2 years and no more EVER, according to Joh! Hey, the first Langs had KINMAN pups--right from Australia.
Anyway-off to crash for the night and best to you down under. God I am so sorry to see Steve "Croc Huntrer" leave us. He was great!
