Not a criticism, but an obvervation. Many of the the "artistic" photos are macro lens close-ups.
Bass becomes a larger than life landscape of metal, wood and plastic. cool.

Allex, your pics are crazy. (Actually a lot on here are very nice.) I just got a pretty decent DSLR. How are you taking them? Can you advise at all on taking good pics? I'm just learning, but of course I gotta get good bass pics! ...maybe some of the more photographically inclined could include camera type, settings, etc... ?
Canon EOS 5D Mark II, buncha good lenses, good lights and LOTS of trial/error...
A large black cloth does wonders behind or underneath some basses...
No secret with the macro ones, it's just a good, expensive macro. I rarely edit anything besides making it B/W or sephia...

Real photographers use film and paper! (You can take that the same way you take "real bassists use fingers", etc.) Anyway, my Westone Spectrum GT taken with Minolta X-700, Kodak 400TriX film, printed on Arista silver gelatin paper:
I need to do this one again once I have a better way to suspend the instrument in mid-air and get better control of the foreground light.

Not quite on par with some of the art in this thread, but I like the way this bass looked after I replaced the chrome hardware with black, and the lighting is cool-ish
