here's a pic from my last apartment, while tracking a friend's demo. we called it the "ready room" for all the stuff we werent using yet.

At the moment I just demo songs on my own playing all the instruments.

Picture a room covered in all this gear and with loads of messy wires -

Fender Jazz Fretless/Warwick Rockbass Streamer/Strat Copy > A bunch of pedals > Tascam DP-01FX Multitraker.

I also use a Technics sx-KN5O1 keyboard, which has a built in drum machine which I use when I can't get to a real kit.

When I've mastered the songs on the Multitracker, I move them off to my laptop where I mess around with them a bit in Sony Sound Forge.

Relativly cheap and cheerful set up!
