Post pictures of your favorite basses and bass body styles that have been discontinued or are no longer available and wish they were!!

i don't know about wish i could find again, because we still have it, but the pelosi below has a real nice body style, and since pelosi went out of business a few years ago, you can no longer get 'em

Pointy 80s basses? My ~1984 Ibanez Destroyer!

Also, brush with celebrity...that Flying V that Ducky next to me is playing once belonged to Rick Nielsen.

Well, how about the other Rickenbacker basses? I think they were pretty sweet, although compared to the 4000-series they are much more conventional electric guitar-shaped.

The Ovation Magnum:

I know Eastwood make a Magnum now, but it has a lot of the original features removed... still... what a crass shape! That bass is 100% from a different era, but it says it all so boldly you have to love it!

The Guilds are also cool. Its a shame the Guild name is used for acoustics at the moment as I'm sure a string of reissue electrics would go down well.

yeah, i know... but THIS pelosi was a small bass shop in, I believe, Brooklyn, NY. the bass originally listed for @ 1800.00 and we got it used off Ebay for @ 500.00.

it has one pick up and is fretless.

it has about 12 different kinds of wood on it and is really sweet.

the sound is amazing.

Though I guess there is an overpriced new signature model with incorrect pickups... The Gibson RD has always been a favorite of mine.

Nice. I also liked the Guild Pilot, kind of a swept J-bass body. Guy I know around here plays one in a bluegrass band. He's a fair singer, too:

Gibson non-reverse Thunderbird.

The short-lived 82-85 Guild SB201/202/203. Seemed it was a more conventional bodystyle for a Guild and played great. I wonder why it never caught on.

And of course the awesome Ibanez Musician. To me a far classier bass with far killer tone over the SR bodystyle.
I liked the first version MC900/924 bodyshape best.

Have to agree here. Since Fender doesn't currently make a semi or full hollowbody bass wish they would do an "ACCURATE" reissue of the 60s Starfire basses. Including the proper BiSonics. Not an almost copy like the De Armonds were.

I just need an SBV-550 now.
There was one on ebay, but it was local pickup only in England
Maybe when another appears a few years from now...I'm building an SBV fund especially for this.

Rarely I'll see an old early-70's SB-type, but I never have that kinda money, and I've heard these reissues have more consistent build quality. I LOVE my SBV.
