It was right around 10 hours all together.

Hey, since this is a tattoo thread and all, I've got something I have to tell all of you. I have seen a lot of you cacuasians(I'm chinese) getting tattoos of Chinese characters.

Many of these chinese characters that you guys ink on your skins for the rest of your lives have either no meaning (both on the streets and online), or do not hold sufficient meaning on its own. My friends and I have seen many non-Chinese with tattoos that do not make sense. Chinese is a language that usually requires more than one word to hold some content. I'm not going to go into detail how wrong it is since it would take too long for me to explain phrasing and all. I hope you guys understand what I'm trying to put across.

PLEASE, check with your chinese speaking friends on what the words mean before having them stuck on your skin and looking like a fool for the rest of your life. Do not always trust online websites or the tattooist.

Or you could just PM me the word you want to tat, and I can probably give you some decent advice.

Cheers!

Good advice! Yes, please consult somebody that ACTUALLY SPEAKS the language before getting Asian characters. If you don't you might be walking around with some foul language on you body. LOL

Matrok, talk to your artist... get their ideas about how to integrate new art into you whole scheme. If they are any good they will be able to make it look nice. I think that was a phobia of mine as well... so I just did the whole damned arm. LOL

Haha.. And if a piece just doesn't look right, surround it w/ more ink until it does! ;) Then if you're absurdly obsessive like me, you could cover it up w/ something better :hiding:

I'd say a day or two on the arm. The main thing is that you want to stay hydrated, lots of moisture from within is really good when healing a tattoo. If you can keep from sweating too much and messing with the scabs you're fine. If you typically get wet arms from sweat while lifting and running, I'd take a break.

This sounds good to me. I'm plenty hydrated during the day, and will take a break off the running/lifting/sweating for a bit. Maybe start up again on Friday or just save it for next Monday.

Thanks!

You should wait until your scab has healed up. If you lift weights while it's scabbing, you'll split it, bleed, and lose ink. I'd honestly say that you should at LEAST wait a week, maybe two before lifting a lot.
