actually it's red and black... my dad said it was purple too... rest of my leg is red and black too... just have to wait 2 weeks for the true color to reveal, as always, I hate that part

regarding the 'scabbing' issue you were talking about a few days ago...

you can heal your tattoo without it scabbing at all if you use the right aftercare stuff... in the UK there's a nappy (diaper) rash cream called 'Bepanthen' (dunno if you have it in the USA), that is absolutely wonderful... it keeps your tattoo moist and stops it scabbing... use it for 3-4 days until the top layer (that would have otherwise scabbed) mushes off in the shower then switch to something like Nivea or Vaseline Intensive Care (a general good quality non-greasy moisturiser) until the silver flaky skin dies down

i had a bit more done on my Giger-esque biomechanical what-will-eventually-be-a-sleeve last Saturday... here it is so far.. my 2008 resolution is to finish this off before summer

i'm debating whether or not to start my right arm sleeve before iraq or not.

+1 -Bepanthen was recommended by my artist, never had a scab on either piece...

yeah but next week i'll be getting about $6800 extra in the bank. of course $900s going to lawyer, and another 900 is going to payoff a new stingray. but i'll be in CA for a month, and i'll have two-three months before i leave for iraq

Yeah with a few months before leaving I would probably start it. But I would make sure there was enough time for it to heal before getting over there. It will be impossible to keep a fresh tattoo clean in that s _ _ t hole.
I'm assuming you're going to CA for NTC? If so, you might want to consider the ability to keep it clean there. Just my $.02.

i don't have time to start it before then, we leave the 7th for irwin till the 29th. but after that i should have some decent money, i might just try and get the outline of the sleeve done. we're only supposed to be in iraq for 6-8 months, so hopefully we won't get extended any while we're over there.

From experience i can say it nips, but it isnt that bad, the worst places are when you get lower down and are almost on the foot, and when going over the Achilies tendon, the middle of the calf was bad for me, calf muscle started twitching by itself

yeah, shin isn't too bad, i've heard foot is brutal, but i wouldn't know.

I've only had a small part on my shin(near my knee) didn't mind it at all, I hate spots with muscles, those sting... also they say the inside of your upper arm hurts like hell, I don't agree at all, the only part that wasn't much fun was near my elbow...

here in holland they use something for hemorrhoids, don't know the exact name(I don't use it) but according to some friends of mine, it prevents scabbing and itching... but since mine are all ready scabless after a day or 4-5 I'm not gonna try it...

My scabbing has gone decently, but the itching was driving me crazy these past 2 days.

Its just fantastic waking up to a nice cold shower to get the itch away for 10 minutes, but what a feeling when you pour water over your arm!

I play alot of instruments....don't pour haterade all over my Treble clef. The other is freehand skull/hood/horns thats gonna drop down my shin into a fired up KT88 inside his ribcage.
