thanks! yeah.... i like the Hexe a LOT, but i replaced it with the Heliotrope and moved the Ugly Face down to the bottom row. trying to keep the area on the right of the VTD clear for 3 pedals on the way.

gotcha. i'm so torn about blenders. i like the idea of taking a pedal that is ALMOST right and making it perfect. but i can't ever get over using up the space to "fix" a pedal. there are so many freaking options out there, and pedalboard real estate is SO dear if you don't want to wrench your back hauling around a PT-Pro.

I know what you mean as I found it hard to bite the bullet and buy a blender for my original board. I really like the sound I get from my Voodoobass (no low end loss, vicious high gain, warm and fluffy low gain) but its main flaw is that that notes sometimes lose definition, especially when played live. The X-Blender and Voodoobass have sated my desire to hunt for more gain pedals (although as someone who has only dipped their legs in the juicy ocean of pedals out there, this probably doesn't mean much.)

Parallel Blending is boobies. Keep in mind that you only need one blend loop to put a clean signal underneath an unlimited chain of pedals. I use my LS-2 to put a clean signal underneath two fuzzes that suck low end but otherwise have the glitchy pinched gated barking sound I'm looking for (Chunky Cheese-->Shiva). Some people don't like the clean blend, I've heard the term artificial used a lot; but in a band setting,...it's hard to tell something like that and way easier to tell when the bottom drops out.

The other thing you could probably to to get around space gobbling is if you had a riser system similar to CCouch7's, in which you could hide the blend loop underneath the riser. The drawback is that makes it difficult to adjust you settings on the fly.

You could get af ew more pedals on there with some flat right angled connectors.

To stick with the Blue theme you could always opt for a Frostwave Blue Ringer (if you can find one) -

warWiCKerMan - hurm. what you say is very interesting. i DO have a pedal (the Devi OK) that i love, but can't use 'cause it sounds thin thin THIN. i dunno. might look into hiding a blend. i have the PPII and the Line 6 Wireless underneath the board right now.

i can't do anymore riser stuff and still have my board fit in it's case. might see if i can find something that would fit underneath.

If you look and listen long enough you will always find some f*^k who has done something that sounds the same or similar to something you are working on.
Don't let that ole chestnut bring you down, or stop you from developing what you've started.
As long as you know that what you're doing is from your own mind, and not some shallow rip off of some other persons work, why worry ?
I've stumbled across stuff that could sound as though it was an influence on previous work I've been involved with, except for the fact that I hadn't heard the stuff whilst creating what sounded similar.
It's "all been done in some form by somebody previously" is what a bitter colleague informed me a long time ago.
There might be some truth in that.

wUd - totally agree with you. up to a point. there has been SO much music made that eventually you're gonna (even accidentally) duplicate somebody else's ideas.

the problem is, the theme i'm thinking of, i LOVE that song. so i think it's WAY closer to ripping off something than an accidental resemblance. i guess it COULD be considered an homage... jus trying to tweak i enough that it's different enough not to bother me.

lol... really, i could give a *€#% what most people think musically. there's always gonna be haters. but if it bothers me then what's the point?

Thanks, I really like the outdoor gigs, but the only lights I could see on my board were the porkloin and carbon copy.
I love my Pitchblack tuner but it was practically useless outside.
