question: why did you choose a mini qtron over a micro qtron?? they have pretty much identical circuits, only the micro is half the size, suppose it doesnt matter if your setup is complete but there would be certainly more space for another

Definitely! I was going to add that comment but decided to keep it simple and to the pointtrue, but if your going for mojo, you just HAVE to get the original q-tron
It's minier than the other two big ones and it's still got a bit of mojo left in it. The micro is just cold.but the mini qtron just isnt....mini

whats the weird thing? is it just a preamp or something else?
It is/was a Brownsville 15G, 15 watt guitar practice amp. I'm using it to add a bit of grit/crunch to my sound. If you noticed, I have the splitter coming out of the CS3, one line is going to an input of my amp, the other is going through the 15G and then to my amps other input. I'm gonna rehouse it in a much smaller casing (well, it'll still be long, but it wont be as deep), about 11x3.5x3.5 in.
I'm gonna run it with a Barge Concepts VBF-2 in a loop by itself so I can turn it on and off and I don't always want the grit.
There are MUCH cheaper ways of doing this.

The loop master breaks it down to the basics, no blend (which I don't think you'd really need as its a fully functioning preamp) or feedback loop (again, I don't see a use for it). Its taken down to just the on-off switch and an optional LED. Its smaller than an MXR pedal and plain its only $35, with the LED its only $45.

I think on the other hand that a blender would be cool, so you could mix your dry signal with some grit or high end distortion.
I love that possibility. What I do is split my signal, 1 output goes through my amp, the 2nd goes trhoug my effectsand 2nd amp, or eventually the 2 outputs to a mixing board. I love it with the big muff set on high freqs fuzz (middle pot all the way to the right).

All custom - except for the expression pedal of course. When Pigtronix Dave lived upstairs from me we built those as prototypes/experiments. Didn't want to spend a ton on enclosures, so I got some old NATO ammo cans for $9 a pop and used those. Some of those have evolved into Pigtronix products [distortion/fuzz/green ringer = Pigtronix Disnortion & the delay/chorus became the starting point for their Ecolution delay], others didn't. I did the industrial design [i.e. enclosure and stuff] for the Pigtronix EP-1, so I had a hand in building that one as well.
