Potassium dichromate

Scary article in this month's Fine Woodworking magazine regarding potassium dichromate. I remember Lou DiLeone proudly showing me a bass he had just dosed with the stuff. I hope all my bass repairman friends are taking proper care. I did a little looking around myself. It's great stuff for making new wood age quickly, but apparently it is does require proper measures for safety beyond just the mask.

No unusual precautions needed. Respirator, gloves, safety goggles. Don't eat or breathe it or rub it in your eyes and you should be fine. Lol
