Impulse buyer...
I am considering changing my amp after many years of the same old rig.

I would like to use a Tech21 RPM pre-amp and a good solid power amp between 500 & 800 watts.

To drive either a 4X10" or a 1X18" plus a 2X10"..

Having never used such a setup before, I am curious what power amp you guys would recommend.

another vote for the Crown XLS and the IPR3000 also makes a nice bass amp to drive all 4 of my 4x10s :) (except for the ridiculous bright blue LEDs that light up the whole front)

You could do worse that checking out the power amps on the Carvin web site. I'm currently using a DCM1000L in my main pre/power amplifier. I am about to replace it with an HD2000 from them. This is on hold at the moment as I'm back home in Liverpool. One of my brother's wife lost her battle with Cancer. It's great to see all the family again but the circumstances suck big time!!!

Yes I know Riis, I just felt I needed a little more than 325W per. :D

500 watts / per side @ 4 ohms. Not a huge jump but a great pairing with (2) 4 ohm B-2's.

Sorry to hear of your family's loss! My clan will be gathering June 28th in Washington, NC, to scatter dad's "cremains" (ashes) in the Pamlico River. For those in coastal NC, you're more than welcome to join us.

I used a Carvin FET1000 for a couple decades. It's still running strong but weighs a ton. I moved to the XLS1500 as part of my weight loss program. Great little amp.
