Power Bars

Hello,

I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations for power bars. I don't want to settle for the simple London Drugs power bar special, I'd like to actually get something that has a high rating (surge protection etc...) but not too sure what brands to look for/stay away from.

Basically I'm hooking my LMII up to it and its just 1 cab but in future it'd probably be 2 cabs so I can run the full 500 watts. (I find that a normal power bar doesn't really like to run more than just 1)

Where I am here in NY when you refer to "power bar" it is a food, high energy nutrition supplement.

As for your actual question I always carry a Furman it has 6 outlets and a fairly long extesion cord..

It protects against power surges. I have no idea how it is rated.

Look at companies that do power strips for computers like APC. They ususally have charts and forumlas for calculating the size strip you need. Clean power is what is important in other words steady power no spikes or dips. Power dips/drops can be worse than spikes. At home I use small UPS's not to keep gear up for gracefull shutdown, but for the filtered steady power source they supply.
