This bone head has been playing electric instruments since 1966 (no conditioner, no problems so far). This bone head has been a field engineer for 25 years working on $500,000 equipment and run power analyzers all along the west coast, Alaska and Hawaii(recording sags, bumps and noise).
Guess what guys: There is not much on an electrical line to be afraid of.
What I have seen is bad wiring, faulty/no grounds in a lot of bars. My recommendation, go buy a Home Depot wiring checker. You know the one with the three lights that light up telling you how the outlet is wired.
Now if you know of a situation then go shopping for protection specifically aimed at that problem.
You don't have to believe me, go to a computor store and ask them. Microprocessors are sensitive to just about everything that may come down a power line.
Surges, sags, noise are real problems but they are few and far between. Oh yea I did have a power problem in Nome. If your playing a gig there I can give you tips how to deal with that town.
