Power switch on Ampeg V4 staying "on"

So after practice yesterday I go to switch off my amp and... the switch wouldn't stay "down" or "off", it just switches back up to the "on" position.

So... is this an issue with V4's or do I just need to replace the switch?

PS: I have a gig on friday and saturday... how would one suggest I move forward? And DIY would have to be EASY as hell... I have no experience with working on amps.

Power switches are easy repair jobs, it's a $5 part and probably about 30 minutes of bench time tops. Until you can get it in for repair, as Craig said, you can go the short cut route of using a power strip with a switch. That will serve the same basic purpose.

One easy thing you could try yourself is laying the unplugged amp on its back and spraying some Caig Deoxit(-w/lube) in through the little gap around the toggle, then operate the switch back and forth to clean and lube the switches inner contacts. I wouldnt be surprised if it got your power switch working again.
