I've got Peavey Minx amp that's about 20 years old. It spent many, many years being played at max volume 'cause I couldn't afford a louder amp. It's pretty worn out sounding. And with the headphones in it sounds like it's full of snakes. (Insert your own "Snakes on a Plane/Amp" joke here.)

Well now I'm an adult (ha ha) and I've got a couple of "big boy" amps. But my wife works early mornings, so I have to turn them off by about 10 p.m.

What I need is a decent way to play through headphones. It would be nice to be able to run some of my stompboxes too.

I started looking at MF and saw the two Peavey bass practice amps. I like the idea of being able to run my CD player and/or metronome through the amp as well.

I've read here about using a cheap mixer instead. That idea intrigues me. Can I run my pedalboard through a mixer? Any suggestions for a decent cheap one? Seeing how this is going to be purely a headphone situation, I'm thinking this is the way to go.

Oh, I looked into the Tascams, and didn't care for the price and all the bells & whistles.

My criteria are:
Headphone Output
Line-in from CD player and/or metronome
Maybe, the ability to run pedalboard through to headphones

Suggestions?
