I haven't been playing bass long, and I'm not very good. I want to get faster with moving my fingers along the fret board. So could you guys please suggest some practicing techniques to make my speed and accuracy faster and greater? Or any other things you could suggest for a beginner like me? Thanks a bunch!!

This will give you years of easily digestible, free, simple instruction. The ideas and drills taught in these lessons are the same ones I've spent a lot of money on in private lessons...I highly recommend these to every beginning bass player I run across.

1. Learn the notes on the fingerboard;
2. Learn the harmonic relationship of the notes in the context of any and all pieces of music; and
3. Exercises that will increase your dexterity and stamina without inducing injury
are what you need. So, learn to read and associate the reading with your instrument. There are dozens of good resources on the internet. Just google bass exercises and various variations on that. Then, be prepared to woodshed for a few years.
