Practicing Jaco Lines Is Paying Off!

This is a cover of “Expansions” by Lonnie Liston Smith; the bass part is one fast riff played on acoustic. Two years ago, I could not maintain this tempo for the whole song. I did pretty easily today. I am sorry for not mixing the original more loudly, but I did feel like recording it again!:smug: I am posting the original track below for reference:


The bottom line is that practicing compositions like “River People,” which I can play comfortably at 75% original tempo and maybe1:30 seconds at the actual tempo have increased my speed and endurance, even at my advanced age of 60.:):bassist::)
