Everybody:
You are so kind to me. I am deeply grateful. My family has always been very close, and now, only my sister and I remain. Grief has certainly overtaken us, but we will climb through it.
My mom battled multiple myeloma, a very aggressive cancer of the blood plasma. The diagnosis was confirmed on the day of the last NIN show ever on September 10th, which created a particularly intense emotional ride. Since that show, my sister and I have been our mom's nurses, advocates, and helpers, particularly as she became more ill, and less able to communicate.
It was the biggest challenge of my life. Particularly the last 48 hours of her life. She passed away at midnight, November 1st.
Now, as I work on the process of this, I find incredible solace in music. Doing a few sessions this week, perhaps selfishly, but I find them immensely therapeutic.
Anyways, I'll probably not be writing on here as often for a while. Regardless, the outpouring of support from you people is heavy duty for me. I thank you and bow to you.
Justin
