pre-amp question-

I have an Ampeg ba-hpt 1-15 220 watt amp(has a tube in the pre-amp).Am starting to get the sound I need with the pre-amp knob full on,and the master at 5 or 6.Is it bad to have the pre-amp full on all the time? Should I turn it down between sets? There's no fan-
