Pre CBS Bass Tuners???

Hi, I've got this bass fender / kluson Nickel Tuners for manny years now
i've been told they are early 60' that was used on fender basses and gibson thunderbirds
(they are NOT reverse Tuners)
Is any expert here, to give me some info? I'll appreciate it very much, thanks

In pre-CBS years, Fender typically used Kluson reverse tuners. The ones you pictured are similar to the tuners Fender made in-house starting 1965, i.e. CBS era. But those should have the Fender logo stamped on the back. See here:

I wouldn't call myself an expert, but judging by all the vintage Fenders I saw in the flesh and the few I owned and currently own and according to the books I read, I doubt that your tuners are pre-CBS or even made by Fender.

I'm sure the real Fender experts can provide more insight.

Fender used this type of tuner for the first time in 1966! CBS introduced these!

Yours are not Fender tuners! Nor have they ever been used by Fender like this!

The CBS Fender tuners had always!!!!!!!!!! the Fender name with or without ® mark depending on the year.

I wouldn't call myself an expert, but judging by all the vintage Fenders I saw in the flesh and the few I owned and currently own and according to the books I read, I doubt that your tuners are pre-CBS or even made by Fender.

I wish I had the tuners sitting next to me; I have a 1963 Fender Precision Bass. I'd swapped out the tuners for modern tuners since the original ones were stiffened from age. When I go home, I'll see what they look like, but I'm really not sure that the "Fender" logo was stamped onto them...

Those look like relic'd GOTOH made "Fender style" tuners from the early 80's. What was used on early Japanese Squiers.

second on this. The plate are more 'rounded' and 'curved'.

Maybe a hybrid? I don't remember seeing that beveled washer on the Squier tuners, plus the screw head holding the gear has a big open phillips area. The Squiers were thinner and sharper.
Also, The Gotohs on the Squiers has elephant ears that tapered to the shaft. The one pictured have a step.
Anyways, waaay too much time on this.

they did use the reverse pre cbs tuners (not like this ones) on gibson thunderbirds and on fender basses

I say they might be MIJ/CIJ tuners used on the reissues. The pic is from my 62 RI made in the early 90s.

I have lots of old Fenders but, the only original tuners I have, left, are on my 74-Jazz bass, which I'll leave and live with. ... Old Fender tuners didn't age well and sometimes the play on them would be so crazy big they'd start to rattle while your playing. ... Back in the 70's I had a 68 J-bass which was all original except for 'name brand' replacements. (I can't remember the name but, it'll come to me a 3 am) ... They worked very well and I understood why the previous owner swapped them out. But, always have the odd fellow come up to me on a gig and say, "You should find the right tuners for that bass." ... And I'd say, "Get a life. ... Mine is too short to care."

Possibly looks like early Japanese clone tuners... i.e. late 70s/early 80's. I should find mine and photograph the backside and see if there's a match. Mine are in a box somewhere around here.
