If a fellow who was disabled did the "mod" to allow him to play, that is awesome and outweighs, by orders of magnitudes, any butthurt expressed by present day cork sniffers, crying about damaging a vintage bass.

It could be restored. ....it will just have to have a refinish in a solid color.

I'll bet that triangle cut fits over the right armrest on the wheelchair. I like seeing mutilated guitars if they get played, I think it's the same thrill others get from zombie fliks.

The real shame is taking off the headstock decal.

... It looks like a different body... Not a carved original or from original...same for the head stock...looks Russian ....they do theses extra angles to accomplish an art object....as if jumping off a canvass if some impressionist /cubism / mid painter
