I'm in the process of my very first build. Got most everything planned out but am still having a hard time figuring out the electronics. Someone gave me a set of Delano SBC5 HE/S pickups so I'm probably going to try those but can't decide what preamp to pair with them. I'm hoping to have a warm/darker tone with a good amount of output. Any suggestions?

Holy cow! Those are nice pickups to have someone just give you! For a warm/darker tone, you'll want to wire them in series mode. And my preamp of choice is something by John East, like a BTB-01 for stacked two-band, or a full-on U-Retro for more.
