Preamp issue.

I have an ART Nightbass effects unit/preamp. I would like to use it with my Eden WT-800 head, but I have been told that it was best not to use a preamp with a preamp because it would just cause a lot of noise. I had hooked it up one point, but I don't think I had it hooked up right. I don't want to damage my head so I got an inexpensive rack mount effects unit, because I don't like pedals, but it doesn't have the quality effects or the versatility of my Nightbass. I used to run the NB through a straight power amp and that worked great, but I really wanted to get this Eden head. I don't use a lot of effects so if I am not able to use this with the Eden could anyone recommend a rackmount effects unit that that's good quality and not at a crazy price or maybe suggest how I could connect these properly I would really appreciate any response. Thanks

First off nothing is going to blow up, deep breath, calm down.

What effects do you plan to use on the Nightbass? Do you have the footswitch?

You can run bass>nightbass>eden wt800>speakers for the simplest solution What you want to avoid is too much boost or output from the Nightbass preamp or too much EQ boost that can cause the input on the Eden to clip or get noisy. Then you cann use the Eden Wt800 to drive your speakers. Will you be bi-amping, stereo or full range?

I tried bi-amping, but I seemed to loose some power when I did that so I switched to bridge mode. The effects I use are pretty much just reverb, chorus and sometimes the pitch shift, but I have different presets that I have always used and have never changed. Usually when I find a good tone I leave it and I have presets for my fretted and fretless. I have been using the NB for many years and I had it repaired locally a few years ago because I have just been so happy with it. I am a bit out of the loop with effects because I have been using the same setup since the late 90's and haven't needed to try anything else. I was also concerned about the noise it may generate if was able to connect the 2 units. I seem to be getting some noise from the new effects unit I am using now, but not on every preset. Also I was concerned that when I put the NB in my rack that I only have about maybe a 1/2" of space between the 2 units. I was worried that may cause the head some heat issues. I do appreciate the response.

If the Nightbass is working keep using the beast as long as you can keep it alive, sometimes it is hard to beat the old stuff that gets it right.

One more question. What would be the best way to connect the 2 to get full functions from both and is that even possible? I really would like to keep the functions of the Eden preamp, but use my presets on my NB as they are.
