Hello bass universe!
I wanted to put a question out there- I recently acquired a DPA 4099 bass mic to use with both my old german bass and my Chadwick either as an alternative or in conjunction with my pickup (Realist on the German, Full Circle on the Chadwick). The mic sounds amazing, however it requires phantom power.
My plan is to have the option to use the mic or pickup in any situation, regardless if there's a bass amp or PA (one or the other). So, I'm looking for a preamp that provides phantom power and some EQ control to help eliminate woofy frequencies if needed. Ideally, I would also love to find a preamp that lets me blend two signals (i.e. mic and pickup), but this is less essential. Other tools I own which may be of use in this setup include a Morley ABY switch and a volume pedal.
Any suggestions? So far I've checked out the L.R. Baggs Para DI, but my understanding is that it doesn't provide phantom power (requires it off of a board).
