Double Bass Preamp setup to use with my EUB

Hi! I've got some gigs later this year that I'll be using my EUB for some songs.
I've been using my HX Stomp with a preset for my fretless and another for my EUB and I go direct, using only the available monitors for backline (we intend to go full IEM further on).
Our sound man wants a dedicated line for the EUB. He wants to be able to program 2 diferent eqs for each of the instrument.
I've sent for a Tech 21 Q/Strip because it sounds really great and it's a tool that I'll be using with other basses as well. But I was also thinking of complementing it with another preamp like the ART MP/C because of tube warmth, compression and the availability of a phase inverter that lacks in the Q/Strip.
I'd like to know your opinion about this setup and if you think that it will work out ok or is the Q/Strip alone enough for this?

I just started using my Tech 21 for my EUB last week and have been able to get a much better upright tone out of it. I kinda double-up with some of the settings on my Ten2 that help a bit as well. On Sunday I used my EUB at church for the first time and was asked if I could make it sound less like an upright bass and more like an electric...so I guess the Tech21 was doing what I had set it to do!

I know nothing about the equipment you listed, but I use a LR Baggs Venue DI with my EUB and it works great.

I think you may misunderstand what the audio tech is asking for...or maybe I misunderstand. Either way you need to clarify expectations.

I think the audio tech wants dedicated signal paths for both basses instead of one channel where you are switching in different EQs. The idea is the audio tech will EQ one channel for fretless and then EQ the other channel for EUB.

If the audio tech is using a digital console, it's usually possible to save and load EQ presets into the channels. So this could be a single channel solution. I.E. you get your fretless sound dialed in, the audio tech dials the fretless into the FOH mix and then save the EQ to an EQ library. Next you change patches on your HX stomp and dial in your EUB sound. Then the audio tech dials in the EUB into the FOH mix and saves the EQ to the EQ library. Every time you switch instruments and patches on the HX Stomp, the audio tech will need to dig into a sub-menu to recall the channel EQ. This is a bit of a hassle, and it's preferable to setup separate channel for each instrument.

The efficacy of the preceding paragraph would depend on how the aux sends are configured. I would suggest configuring your aux send Pre EQ. That way you set your stage sound with your HX Stomp and the Q/Strip, and then the audio tech is free to use the channel EQ to tailor your sound for FOH without modifying your stage sound. Keep in mind any EQ adjustments you make will have an impact on all mixes derived from your signal. So I suggest getting your sound dialed in early and trying to lock it down during the show. If you fiddle with the EQ and volume during the show it will affect both the FOH mix and the monitor mixes. The audio tech can correct the FOH mix, but can't accurately assess the impact on the monitor mixes. If you turn up, it's likely that you will force others to turn up, so a volume war starts.

If you want to use the HX Stomp for fretless and the Q/Strip for EUB I think that will be fine. The Q/Strip as a built in DI and is well reviewed. Input impedance is 4.7meg, so it should work well regardless of whether your EUB has an active preamp or just the piezo pickup.
