Hello Everybody,
I am looking at upgrading my stock ESP B208 8 string bass. The axe plays well and has a lot of potential, but the stock electronics leave a lot to be desired. I am going to have some Dingwall Alnico pickups available from an upgrade to my Combustion 5 String. These should fit the pickup rout in the ESP with a little space to spare width wise.
Heres my question: For this type of bass, which is best suited to power trio pick type rock, what type on board preamp would you recommend? Delano looks good pricewise, but I have no experience with onboard preamps other than John East's J retro/U retro. I do prefer sweepable mids and pickup blend controls. John East's new ACG filter system looks interesting. Thoughts Please.
