Presonus 1818 VSL

HI,

I recently picked up a Presonus 1818 VSL in hopes of expanding my recording abilities to more than 2 tracks (have been the Audiobox USB for a couple of years). I'm working through issues connecting to the pc, but assuming I get past that, I'm already looking at expanding.

I'm connecting this unit to a PC via USB. I see that more than one of the 1818s can be daisy chained using ADAT. If I chain two 1818s together using ADAT, will the USB connection manage all 16 tracks or would that require some sort of ADAT connection to the PC?

I don't think the ADAT is for Daisy chaining a second 1818VSL. It is for adding additional mic Pres such as the Focusrite OctoPre, Behringer ADA8200, or Presonus Digimax. You just need the USB connected to the computer. It is capable of transferring all 18 channels.

The 1818 is capable of 96kHz, but 8 channels of ADAT will only be 48kHz. If you wanted to record at 96kHz, you could only add 4 channels via the ADAT connection.
