Prestige bass

The Prestige is their (nearly) top of the line, and very nice indeed.....looks like all of them are wenge tops though. If yours isn't wenge, it's probably not a Prestige. I covet the SR5000. They also have the "Premium" line, which is pretty much boutique level. My only criticism, if you can call it that, is that Ibanez has almost too many models, it's confusing. I have yet to pick up any Ibanez bass, regardless of model number, that wasn't a superb bass. The super-slim necks and ergonomics fit me like a glove.

Ibanez has had at times 3 levels. Standard, Premium, and Prestige. The Standard ones are just labeled Ibanez, and the Premium and Prestige names are added with the Ibanez name. As for the differences, the standard line offers good bang for the buck, the Premium line while made in Indonesia has premium hardware, pickups, and electronics. And, from what I can tell the Prestige line has similar hardware as the Premium line but with fancier figured woods and is made in Japan. In my opinion, you get what you pay for.
