pretentious band name

"Who's Beethoven?"

"Obscure Band You've Never Heard of But Is Infinitely More Awesome Than Your Current Favorite Band" (Try fitting that on a T-Shirt)

"The Apollo Gang" (Classical mythology states that Apollo was the god of the sun, and also of music.)

"Lyres and Lutes" (Classical ancient music name, indicating that you know more about music's history than other people and you're classy and intelligent/nerdy, but in a cool way.)

"Kings, Princes, Lords, and Dukes"

"Brainwave"

"Mindfield"

"Insert Name Here"

"Empire"

I figure a pretentious band wouldn't ask for, need, or want the opinion of others when it comes to the band name. Then again, I wouldn't consider the influences you listed pretentious bands either....Maybe I'm pretentious haha

But then if it's a pose anyway, it's obviously a calculated pose, so you're only going to be pretending you don't care what other people think, only pretending the name is deeply meaningful and only your "real fans" get it... etc. The difference between poser and pretentious is in how well you pull it off, right?

the "We Actually Came Up With Our Own Name"s
"Better Than You"
"Suck My D**n D**k"
the "Ha-ha F**k You"s
the 'If You Don't Like Us You Clearly Have An Auditory Problem As We Are Definitely Better Than All The Other Bands Out There...You Jerk"s

it's ok..no applause necessary. Just full credit for the name and band memorabilia please :P
