Price drop on DR Fat Beams?!?

It's like Brad Johnson says to each his own. I happen to be one of those Cats Brad mentioned that likes the way the Dunlop SS Super Brights sound on my basses. LOL!!!!!!!

I just ordered a Fender MM, 4-string in Natural, the price seemed a bit lower and the strings are a steal at $13.95...DR's ain't ever been cheap until now.
Waiting for the FedEx truck !!! his new line looks really nice, from the prices quoted it looks like you get a lot for your money, the question is will they carry
the resale value that used MM Fender basses have...I doubt it. It's great that he can get such a high quality bass out for that kind of money.
But his Fender just smokes it in the sounds department from what I've heard...may need that MM PreAmp to go with that new line...
Fender's vintage pickups just have the mojo...and DR makes the best bass string I've used...although I'm using EB Cobalts on my JB Strat...and plan on keeping it that way.

SLaPiNFuNK (or anyone else), do you know what the comparable part number is now for MM6-130? DR only lists the FB6-30 Fat Beams set, which is a 125 and not a 130. There is a Hi Beam set called MR6-130 which does have a 130 B, but that's an entirely different string.

Long story short; I want the same strings I've been using for the last several years, in the same gauges...I don't care who's on the package ;-) Perhaps I'll email DR as well.

The Fender MM's dropped in price because they're discontinued and the dealers want to clear them out. I saw an MM 5 in Sam Ash NYC for $1800 - they had two in stock - the last two they will get.

Have you played any of those new MM "Sire" basses? I think they're just hitting the street now. Do they really have the quality? The prices are amazing - I'm having a hard time believing they can be that good at 1/3 the price - but anything's possible.

DR Discontinued the 6-String .030 .045 .065 .085 .105 .130 set. But you can still make it!
You need to purchase a 5-String set .045 .065 .085 .105 FB5-130 and a single High-C .030

This will actually result in fresher strings for you as 6-String sets do not move as much as 5-Strings.

I've had one since the NAMM show; got it from Mickey Cho himself (the guy behind Sire). You can check out the threads over in the bass category but simply put. Yes, they're legit and the real deal.
